  Foreign countries have begun to use elastic-plastic finite element method to carry out stress-strain analysis and computer simulation on the forming process of automobile cover parts, to predict the possibility and possible problems of forming parts by a certain technological scheme. To speed up product renewal and overcome the defect of long mold designs to cycle, the research on CAD/CAM technology of molds should be vigorously carried out.

  In our country, special attention should be paid to the research of multi-station progressive CAD/CAM technology. It can produce both general precision products and precision parts. Attention should be paid to the development of new forming processes such as precision blanking (especially fine blanking of thick materials), high-energy forming, soft die forming, pressing and superplastic processing, and the application of simple dies (soft dies and low melting point alloy dies), universal combination dies, numerical control punches and other equipment should be promoted.
